Our Holiday Card, and by the way, GOOD RIDDANCE to 2020

Well everyone, today is the last day of 2020, and I have to say Thank GOD it is finally coming to a close.  This has been a tough year for virtually everyone*, and for some people it has been just horrific.  Kelly and I have managed to make it through the year without getting COVID (at least as far as we know) and we are both still employed**.  But we did lose one of our beloved fur-kids – our little Thumbelina: the princess; the Khaleesi; the mighty little Emperox of our universe.  We miss her and still often think about her.

2020 melting onto a dumpster with a fire raging in the foreground. There is a night sky in the background with COVID virus particles falling like snow, one of which is on the moon.
See the blazing dump before us fa la la la la, la la la la.

Still, we added a new member to the family, our fiery little Nymeria.  And we love her very much.  The pups didn’t get to explore the fields at Brimfield this year, as the big event was cancelled and our excursions in general out into the world have been limited as well.  But we got to work from home, which is a heck of a lot better than not working at all.  And good Lord, we got a LOT of reading done this past year, as we didn’t have a lot of other options for entertainment (even TV gets old after a while).

And while there is little from this past year to be thankful for, we can still be VERY thankful that a certain angry sack of bitterness and high cholesterol will no longer be President as of January 20th.   Frankly, that alone is a pretty huge thing to be thankful for, and we are so grateful to all those who voted for Joe and/or against the leaning tower of rancid marmalade.

New Years Eve usually isn’t that big a deal in this house, but tonight we’ll be up to watch the last seconds tick away just to make sure 2020 is well and truly gone. Then we’ll go to bed like the old people we are. Kelly has to spend tomorrow prepping some more for her first round of grad school classes which start in January.

We hope you survived the trash fire that was this year and wish you the best for every day going forward. We can’t make any promises, but we can let you see cards from prior years.

– Geoffrey

*Not for Jeff Bezos and his ilk, clearly.  They had a banner year.  Must be nice.

**Kelly is on furlough from Harvard and we did exactly ONE jewelry show this year, but we both still have our full time jobs.
